BUSINESS IT INSIGHTS
Opening a new location? Start with the IT dependencies.
A practical checklist for connectivity, equipment, access and local coordination before opening day.
A new location brings together people, premises and technology. Before ordering equipment, identify which systems the location needs to trade or operate.
Confirm connectivity early
Internet installation lead times, wireless coverage and internal cabling can affect everything else. Confirm the connection, network layout and any site access requirements before scheduling equipment work.
Identify operational dependencies
List POS equipment, workstations, phones, cameras, signage and cloud services. Note who supplies each system and who is responsible for configuration, installation and support.
Make site responsibilities clear
Record the location contact, access arrangements and prerequisites. Agree how installation completion will be confirmed and how unresolved issues are communicated.
Keep a repeatable record
Document the final equipment, connections and approved access. A consistent site record makes future support easier and helps standardize the next opening.
